North Dakotans statewide who have an Internet connection can watch a debate live tonight between Gov. John Hoeven and his opponent, Tim Mathern.
In addition, there’ll be opportunities to watch rebroadcasts in the coming weeks of the governor’s race debate and debates in other statewide races.
Tonight’s debate is from 6:30 to 8 p.m., in Bismarck and is being broadcast and Webcast by Bimarck’s Community Access Television. The Webcast is available at www.freetv.org; click on the “On Air” icon (“watch what’s on now”).
The Bismarck access channel will record the event and send copies to other community access channels for future replaying in those cities between now and the election. CATV Director Mary Van Sickle said recipients will include the public access channels in Fargo, Grand Forks and Jamestown, Oakes, Lisbon and more.
The Bismarck channel will rebroadcast the debate several more times, Van Sickle said, and every time it is broadcast in Bismarck, it will be Webcast at the same time on www.freetv.org. Viewers can check the Bismarck schedule at the same Web site.
Similar viewing opportunities will be available for debates that are being scheduled in other statewide races, such as state treasurer and the Public Service Commission, Van Sickle said. The debates are being organized by the League of Women Voters.
