People in Jamestown have the opportunity to learn how to stress less and have more fun by attending a parish mission night event at St. James Basilica Catholic Church from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with refreshments to follow. The evening will be held in the Zebedee Center Gym and is for ages 5-105, with childcare being provided for those under age 5. National speaker, author and cartoonist Jason Kotecki has been invited to share key strategies for de-stressing life by renewing and embracing a childlike faith.

Anecdotes, artwork and a bit of live cartooning will be featured in Kotecki’s presentation, as he encourages attendees of all ages to embrace and uncover strategies from childhood to help them grasp a deeper understanding of faith, family, and fellowship. He will talk about the prevention and treatment of “Adultitis,” saying it is an epidemic af-fecting almost every household in the United States.

“Busy, stressed, and overwhelmed — that’s someone with ‘Adultitis,’ do you know anyone like that?” asks Kotecki, author of the book “Escape Adulthood: 8 Secrets from Childhood for the Stressed-Out Grown-Up.” Kotecki says, “Life wasn’t designed to be this way. It’s time to start living life with less stress and more fun, for we are called to live life abundantly.”

Since its debut in 2000, Kotecki’s comic strip, Kim & Jason, has appealed to readers of all ages with its humorous, childlike look at life, he said. Check out www.KimandJason.com for more on Kim & Jason and www.Adultitis.org for more information.

There is no admission charge for the event on Wednesday. For questions about the event, call 252-0478.
