Steven J. Goodrich, 58, Audubon, Minn.

Steven J. Goodrich, 58, Audubon, Minn., formerly of Oakes, N.D., died Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Goodrich was born Nov. 30, 1949, in Oakes, the son of Kenneth and Patricia (Blount) Goodrich. He grew up and attended school in Fullerton, N.D. After graduating high school, he entered the U.S. Air Force in 1969. He was a crew chief on the U.S. Air Force generals’ plane that traveled around the world. He retired as a master sergeant after 20 years of service. After his career in the military, he worked at the Ponca Hills Horse Stables in Nebraska and was a licensed chemical sprayer. He enjoyed working outdoors, growing flowers, spending time with his dog and watching college basketball, football and racing.

He is survived by a son, Chad, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Stacy Goodrich, Omaha, Neb.; his mother, Detroit Lakes, Minn.; a brother, Richard (Diane), Detroit Lakes; five sisters, Marlene Hanson, Jamestown, Karen (Larry) Wischnak, Fargo, N.D., JoAnn (Cal) Steeke, Frazee, Minn., Patti Goodrich, Detroit Lakes, and Diane (Gene) Steeke, Perham, Minn.; and a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Ron.

Memorial service: 11 a.m. today, West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes.

Visitation: already held.

Burial: Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Detroit Lakes.
