Women’s health event set for Oct. 6

North Dakota First Lady Mikey L. Hoeven and North Dakotans Partnering for Women’s Health are hosting the 2008 Women’s Health Summit on Oct. 6 at the Best Western Ramkota Hotel in Bismarck.
Local public health coordinators, outreach volunteers and healthcare providers from across the state will gather to promote women’s health and strengthen efforts to prevent disease among North Dakota women.
“This summit is an opportunity to arm the women in our state with the most up-to-date information regarding women’s health issues,” Hoeven said. “Participants will walk away with tangible, educational tools to implement into their lives in the areas of fitness, nutrition, menopause and much more.”
Featured speakers will include Rebecca Hulem, the Menopause Expert, who will present “Feelin’ Hot?: A Humorous and Informative Guide to Menopause.” Hoeven will share how she weaves her faith into her life as first lady in her presentation, “We’re Never Alone.” Dr. Pepper Schwartz will present a keynote titled, “Did I Say it Right, or Did They Hear It Wrong?: Communication in Intimate Relationships.”
Hoeven is working with North Dakotans Partnering for Women’s Health to make women’s health issues a priority in North Dakota.?
