Roaming Buffalo club meets Oct. 19

The Roaming Buffalo Camping Club met at the Leonard and Cindy Willey residence Sept. 20. A highway cleanup, potluck and meeting were held.

Presidents Dan and Jennifer Kapp opened the meeting and reports were requested. Howard Oppegard presented an award to the club that the national office gave for the conservation efforts and reporting the club has done this last year.

Under old business, Deb Kapp reported on the 2008 Regional held at the Lakeside campground in August. She thanked those who helped and reported that the regional office will send a check fro the receipts for this convention.

New business items that were discussed included the officer election committee, food basket names, Salvation Army bell ringing, Statewide 2009, fall campground cleanup and light parade. More on these at the nest meeting. The Christmas party date has changed to Jan. 24.

A motion was made that the club discontinue membership in the National NCHA/FCRV. After much discussion it was tabled till more information and research made on this.

The next meeting is 3 p.m. Oct. 19 at the James River Senior Center. A potluck will follow the meeting. Food basket items can be turned in any time and money donations taken also.
