The Kidder County Comets stormed back from a two-game deficit to defeat Pingree-Buchanan-Kensal in five games Monday night in Tappen.
Following a 25-11 breakdown in Game 2, the Comets won three straight to take the match 23-25, 11-25, 25-16, 25-23, 15-11.
Shantel Slaughter and Shauna Slaughter both had nice games for the Comets. Shantel ended the match with nine kills, five blocks and two aces, while Shauna recorded 10 assists, three aces, four digs and a block.

An eight block night by Central Prairie’s Emily Wieland helped the Firebirds get past the Edgeley-Kulm Rebels at home Monday night.
The Firebird picked up games one and two (25-14, 25-17), but dropped the third game 25-20 to the Rebels. Central Prairie charged back to win the fourth set 25-18.
Tiana Henry led the Firebirds with nine kills on the evening, while Katy Reis recorded 31 digs. Sasha Krapp had a solid night for Central Prairie with 23 assists, 16 digs, three aces and a pair of kills.
The Rebels were led by Jessa Lindgren’s 13 kills and three blocks and Heather Coleman’s 14 assists.
