Bismarck man faces manslaughter charge
A Bismarck man is charged with manslaughter in a July crash.
MANDAN, N.D. (AP) — A Bismarck man is charged with manslaughter in a July crash.
Authorities say 21-year-old Jon Eikanas was driving drunk and at a high rate of speed when his car crashed near New Salem on July 20.
Twenty-one-year-old Dean Kessel of Bismarck, a passenger in the vehicle, died.
Bond was set at $25,000 for Eikanas, who faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
Eikanas was on probation for gross sexual imposition at the time of the crash. He has a court hearing on Oct. 28, on whether his probation will be revoked.
