Lions, Pirates into final

Linton and Kidder County-Steele-Dawson swept into the championship match of the District 6 Tournament in Napoleon Tuesday night.

The Lions rolled past South Border, while the Pirates improved to 25-3 with a victory over Napoleon.

The Lions didn’t give up more than 22 points in any of the three games. Alexis Nicholson had 27 assists and 12 digs for Linton, which won 25-11, 25-22 and 25-15. Samantha Fettig added 12 kills for the Lions, who also got 21 digs from Devin Doolittle.

Kristy Bosch topped South Border with 12 digs and 12 assists. Kaylee Ketterling added 13 digs.

Kidder County-Steele had to work to win the opener (26-24) over Napoleon, but rolled from there.

Eli Benz hit 13 kills and Lindsey Sand added 12 as they closed it out 25-18 and 25-10. Sand also had 10 digs and 2 aces. Shalee Martin had 11 assists and Tina Haibeck added 10 for the Pirates.

Alicia Rodlund had 11 digs and three aces for the Imperials. Ali Were chipped in with seven kills and four digs.

On Thursday, Napoleon takes on Strasburg-Zeeland in a region-qualifying match, while Kidder County-Tappen meets South Border. Linton and Kidder County-Steele follow in the championship tilt.
