N.D. man dies in rollover accident

A Wyndmere, N.D., man was killed in a rollover crash early Friday morning in Richland County, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The patrol said Eric Gene Johnson, 31, Wyndmere, was driving a 2006 Dodge Charger westbound on Richland County Road 4 ap-proaching the Wild Rice River. He failed to negotiate a curve and drove into the south ditch before vaulting over the river. The Dodge landed on the east side and jumped again over the river bank. The vehicle rolled and came to a rest on its top facing north in the south ditch.

A Wyndmere, N.D., man was killed in a rollover crash early Friday morning in Richland County, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The patrol said Eric Gene Johnson, 31, Wyndmere, was driving a 2006 Dodge Charger westbound on Richland County Road 4 ap-proaching the Wild Rice River. He failed to negotiate a curve and drove into the south ditch before vaulting over the river. The Dodge landed on the east side and jumped again over the river bank. The vehicle rolled and came to a rest on its top facing north in the south ditch.

Johnson was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The patrol said he was not wearing a seat belt.

The Charger was totaled in the rollover. The crash remains under investigation.
