Class B volleyball:" L-M-M, P-B-K win into title tilt

Top-seeded Litchville-Marion-Montpelier will meet Pingree-Buchanan-Kensal in the championship game of the District 5 volleyball tournament in Gackle Monday night.

The L-M-M Rebels swept past Ellendale, while the P-B-K Rebels handled Central Prairie 3-1.

Heather Brown had nine kills and six aces for L-M-M, 25-9, 25-21 and 25-12 winners. Carly Van Bruggen added 19 assists and five digs.

Kiley Fuller led the Cardinals with 17 digs and 15 assists. Meg Martin had 10 blocks and five kills.

P-B-K got 11 kills, seven digs and three aces from Kelly Carlson in a 25-19, 25-22, 18-25 and 25-15 win over Central Prairie. Caitlin Diede had eight kills and four digs. Kiella Vetter had five kills and three aces.

Sasha Krapp’s double-double of 19 assists and 11 digs led the Mustangs. JaSondra Dockter had six kills and 20 digs.

LaMoure kept its season alive with a sweep of Edgeley-Kulm in loser-out action.

Katelyn Zimbleman pounded in 17 kills for the winning Loboes, 25-16, 25-21 and 25-15. Katie Hodem passed out 16 assists and had 12 digs. Sarah Holen had four aces.

Heather Coleman had 19 digs and nine assists for the Rebels. Alyssa Gackle spiked in seven kills.

District 7 Tournament

Wells County and Harvey moved into the District 7 tournament championship match with semifinal victories in New Rockford.

Misty Rappuhn had 15 kills, 16 digs and 10 aces as the Bears beat Maddock 25-20, 20-25, 25-20 and 25-19. Kelli Feakes added 10 kills and six blocks in the victory, while Cassidy Unterseher dished out a team-leading 34 assists.

Laura Taylor’s 14 kills and five blocks led the Bobcats.

Harvey started slow, but rattled off the next three games to win 25-21, 25-19 and 25-19 over the Rockets.

Jaclyn Bachmeier had 32 assists and five digs for the Hornets.

Justene Engels had 19 kills for the Rockets. Michelle Duchscherer’s 22 assists were a team-high.

Midkota beat Lakota to remain alive.

Emily Berge had 17 kills and 11 assists for the Mustangs, who won by the scores of 25-23, 22-25, 25-20 and 25-21. Krista Briss chipped in with 13 assists and nine digs.
