BOTTINEAU, N.D. (AP) — The dean of Minot State University-Bottineau says reactions are mixed to a possible name change.

The campus has been studying a name change for a year. Officials recently sent telephone and written surveys to current and prospective students, faculty, staff, alumni, school officials and community members.

Dean Ken Grosz says reactions to a possible name change are mixed — with no clear majority sentiment.

MSU-Bottineau is considering a name change to give the school a more distinct image. The State Board of Higher Education and the Legislature ultimately would have to approve.
