Hospice marking 10 years of service
Hospice of the Red River Valley is celebrating 10 years of service in Barnes County and the surrounding area with an anniversary celebration on Nov. 13 with an open house luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the HRRV office, 202 Central Ave., Valley City, N.D. Lunch and cake will be served.
Hospice of the Red River Valley is celebrating 10 years of service in Barnes County and the surrounding area with an anniversary celebration on Nov. 13 with an open house luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the HRRV office, 202 Central Ave., Valley City, N.D. Lunch and cake will be served. There will be remarks at 12:30 p.m. from Susan Fuglie, executive director of HRRV, James Jensen, HRRV Board member, and Craig Christianson, administrator at Sheyenne Care Center.
On July 10, 1998, HRRV served its first patient with seven employees and 15 volunteers. Nineteen patients were served in 1998. HRRV is currently serving an average of 36 patients per day with 18 employees and 46 volunteers. In 2007 the Valley City office served a total of 101 patients.
Physical, emotional and spiritual care is provided to patients within a 60-mile radius of Valley City in private residences, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and hospitals.

Hospice of the Red River Valley is an independent, not-for-profit hospice serving all or portions of 28 counties in North Dakota and Minnesota. Hospice care is intensive comfort care that alleviates pain and suffering, enhancing quality of life for terminally ill patients and families.
