Two people were killed in a non-collision crash Sunday in Dunn County and weren’t discovered until Tuesday, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The patrol said David Houle, Jr., 31, Belcourt, N.D. was driving a 2001 Ford pickup early Sunday morning, said, and Dana Freeman, 38, Parshall, N.D. was riding passenger. Houle was headed northbound on North Dakota Highway 22 about 19 miles north of Killdeer, N.D. (about 30 miles north of Dickinson, N.D.) when the vehicle drifted off the right shoulder. The vehicle went off an embankment and ended up in the ravine.
A passing motorist noticed wheel tracks and observed the truck in the ravine on Tuesday. The truck was not visible from the roadway, the patrol said.
Neither Houle nor Freeman were wearing seatbelts.
