About 1,150 Otter Tail Power Company customers in Jamestown lost power for nearly an hour Friday.

Otter Tail officials said the outage occurred at 12:50 p.m. and lasted until 1:36 p.m. A large section of the northwest part of town and a small portion south of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad tracks were affected.

Charles Krebs, Otter Tail operations manager, said it appeared there was a fault in a new cable, which runs under the tracks. Crews are working to find the fault.

“We’ll test the cable to isolate the section,” Krebs said.

Meanwhile, Otter Tail rerouted power to the one quarter of the town affected.
