Minnesota hires new offensive line coach
Minnesota football coach Tim Brewster has named Tim Davis to oversee the Gophers’ running game and offensive line. Davis is currently Alabama director of player personnel. He was named Wednesday to replace Gophers’ offensive line coach Phil Meyer, who resigned Monday after Minnesota’s 55-0 loss to Iowa at the Metrodome. Brewster says Davis has helped develop some of the game’s “most punishing and physical rushing attacks.”
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota football coach Tim Brewster has named Tim Davis to oversee the Gophers’ running game and offensive line.
Davis is currently Alabama director of player personnel. He was named Wednesday to replace Gophers’ offensive line coach Phil Meyer, who resigned Monday after Minnesota’s 55-0 loss to Iowa at the Metrodome.
Brewster says Davis has helped develop some of the game’s “most punishing and physical rushing attacks.”
Davis will leave No. 1 Alabama under coach Nick Saban and begin work with the Gophers on Monday.
Davis has worked at both the college and NFL levels, including as an assistant offensive line coach with the Miami Dolphins under Saban.
