Nething’s victory grows by 2 votes
Secretary of State Al Jaeger said Sen. David Nething’s re-election victory was has grown from eight to 10 votes. Jaeger said Republican incumbent Nething, Jamestown, beat Democratic challenger John Grabinger by a count of 2,982 to 2,972.
BISMARCK (AP) — Secretary of State Al Jaeger said Sen. David Nething’s re-election victory was has grown from eight to 10 votes.
Jaeger said Republican incumbent Nething, Jamestown, beat Democratic challenger John Grabinger by a count of 2,982 to 2,972.
North Dakota’s state canvassing board affirmed Nething’s eight-vote re-election victory on Wednesday morning. Jaeger said an additional 21 ballots counted by the Stutsman County Canvassing Board on Nov. 10 were not provided to the recount board.
Jaeger said the error was found Wednesday afternoon and corrected.
Jaeger said of the 21 ballots, eight votes were cast for Nething, and six for Grabinger. Seven of the ballots did not did not indicate a choice for either candidate.
