‘Green’ building conference set

The North Dakota Association of Builders is hosting a conference early next year in Fargo to educate builders about so-called “green” building.

FARGO (AP) — The North Dakota Association of Builders is hosting a conference early next year in Fargo to educate builders about so-called “green” building.

The method is friendlier to the environment. Association vice president John Gunkelman said green homes also are more energy efficient.

Gunkelman said about 1,400 builders nationwide are certified professionals in green home building. He says being certified helps set those builders apart.

The conference is Jan. 8-10 in Fargo. About 50 builders are expected to attend.
