Two sentenced on felony charges
Two people were sentenced on felony charges in Southeast District Court in Jamestown. Robert James Bechard, 36, 615 Fifth Ave. S.E., pleaded guilty to terrorizing, a Class C felony.

Bechard was accused of threatening to commit a crime of violence or act dangerous to human life, with intent to place another person in fear for that person’s safety or reckless disregard of the risk of causing such terror on Jan. 29.
Judge John Greenwood ordered Bechard to serve 18 months in the North Dakota Department of Corrections, 18 months deferred imposition and 18 months supervised probation. He was ordered to pay $300 indigent recoupment, $400 criminal administration fee, $25 indigent defense application fee, $100 defense/facility administration fee and $25 victim-witness fee. He is to submit to a DNA sample. Bechard is not to consume, posses or purchase any controlled substance nor is he to possess or own firearms.
A Class C felony is punishable by a maximum of five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
David William Sutherland, 40, 1023 Western Park Village, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class C felony, and manufacturing a controlled substance, a Class A felony.
Sutherland was accused of manufacturing, delivering or possessing methamphetamine with intent to manufacture or deliver on May 24. On the same day, he was also accused of using or possessing with intent to use, manufacture, compound, convert, produce, process, prepare, test, injest, inhale or analyze a controlled substance other than marijuana.
Judge John Greenwood sentenced Sutherland to 18 months in the North Dakota Department of Corrections, suspended, with 20 days credit for time served, and 42 months supervised probation. He is to obtain an evaluation and complete recommended treatment.
He is to submit to a DNA sample. Sutherland is not to consume, possess or purchase any controlled substance nor is he to possess or own firearms.
A Class A felony is punishable by a maximum of 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
