Workshop on AmeriCorps grants in Jamestown Tuesday

The State Commission on National and Community Service in the North Dakota Department of Commerce is hosting a series of workshops for the upcoming 2009-10 AmeriCorps grants. The workshops are free but preregistration is required by e-mailing Jerry J. Houn, senior program officer, at jhoun@nd.gov or calling 701-328-7263.

Because space is limited preference will have to be given to those who preregister.

Interested participants include non-profit and faith-based organizations, local and state government entities, American Indian tribes, school and police districts, institutions of higher education and partnerships among any of the above.

The seminars will be held at the following dates, times and locations:

Jamestown: Dec. 2 at the Chamber of Commerce office building 120 Second St. S.E. from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Minot: Dec. 3 at the Job Service office building at 3416 N. Broadway from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Bismarck: Dec. 5 in at the Department of Commerce office building at 1600 East Century Ave. from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Grand Forks: Dec. 8 in at Job Service office building at 1501 28th Ave S. from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Fargo: Dec. 9 in Job Service office building at 1350 32nd St. S. from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
