Local foods intiative supper set in Bowdon

A special supper to promote local foods is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday at the Bowdon Community Center, 121 Warrington Ave., in Bowdon. “We’re looking for folks in a five-county area who are interested in developing and implementing a local foods initiative in central North Dakota,” said Agriculture Commissioner Roger Johnson. “It will be an opportunity to learn more about the local foods movement and what you can do to promote it.”

A special supper to promote local foods is scheduled for 6 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Bowdon Community Center, 121 Warrington Ave., in Bowdon.

“We’re looking for folks in a five-county area who are interested in developing and implementing a local foods initiative in central North Dakota,” said Agriculture Commissioner Roger Johnson. “It will be an opportunity to learn more about the local foods movement and what you can do to promote it.”

Johnson said residents of Eddy, Foster, Kidder, Sheridan and Wells counties are invited to attend.

“There is no preregistration — if you are interested, just show up,” Johnson said. “We have plenty of chili, fresh-made bread and lots to talk about.”
