BISMARCK (AP) — A man sentenced to life in prison for the killings of a Zeeland couple in 1976 says he will appeal his case to a circuit court.
Sebastian Feist was one of three men convicted of killing Zeeland banker Wade Zick and his wife. The couple was abducted, forced to take money from the bank vault and then shot outside of town.
Feist filed an appeal in North Dakota federal court in May, claiming he should be released from prison partly because there was parole in the federal system when he was sentenced. A judge denied the motion.
Feist, who is housed in a Colorado federal prison, filed a handwritten notice that he plans to take the case to the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
