The Fire Academy of North Dakota is a non-profit entity dedicated to the training of firefighters and developing firefighter training programs and films.
With no government funding involved, the academy has created a business to raise funds to continue programs primarily for the volunteer fire departments of North Dakota. Smoked pork ribs are being produced at Medina, N.D., for distribution to grocery stores and restaurants throughout North Dakota. These ribs are lightly spiced, smoked and cooked so the consumer may heat and serve. In addition to the ribs, rib sauces have been developed and are available to compliment the ribs.
A grand opening will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 13 at Firehouse Ribs, 110 Second Ave. N.W., Medina.
There will be free rib samples, apple cider and coffee along with door prizes given hourly and a grand prize drawing for all attendees at 6 p.m. The event will feature live German accordion music throughout the day. Ribs and sauce will be available at an introductory special price.
