Arts Center topic of Kiwanis program

The guest speaker at the Dec. 1 Kiwanis meeting was Taylor Barnes, director of the Arts Center in Jamestown. Barnes thanked all who support the Arts Center.?She stressed that they rely on dedicated staff, donors, volunteers and the board of directors to ensure all of the arts come to people in a variety of ways.?This dedication is apparent in the many programs the Arts Center sponsors, she said.?Barnes provided information on programs and classes for people of all ages.?She also reported that the remodeling project on the Ceramics Studio Annex is nearing completion and they expect to be using that building in January.?Barnes shared the Arts Center’s December calendar with the group and encouraged the group to take part in as many of the activities as possible.
Kiwanis members will continue bell ringing for Salvation Army throughout the Christmas season.
The next noon Kiwanis meeting will be held on Dec. 15 at the Lantern Room.?The program for that day is Christmas music led by Sharon Caine.
