U-14 Prowl go 4-0 during jamboree

The Jamestown-Valley City Prowl U-14 girls’ hockey team went 4-0 at their 11-team jamboree here last weekend, improving to 6-1-1 on the season.

The Jamestown-Valley City Prowl U-14 girls’ hockey team went 4-0 at their 11-team jamboree here last weekend, improving to 6-1-1 on the season.

Amber Schaack scored eight goals in the four games, including one in their 2-0 win over the Wahpeton Blades in the opener. Stephanie Kamlitz also scored, while Lacal Olson, Kelsey Neumann and Ally Dion each got assists. Carissa Finck earned the shutout by stopping eight shots.

The Prowl scored eight times to beat U-19 Miles City, Mont., by seven goals in their second game. Schaack and Larissa Wiest each lit the lamp twice. Kamlitz, Brittany Dobitz and Morgan Geigle also tallied. Assists went to Dobitz (3), Kamlitz (2), Schaack and Torii Kamlitz. Finck stopped 12 of the 13 shots she faced.

Stephanie Kamlitz and Brenna Pritchert each had had tricks in the Prowl’s 9-0 beating of the Williston U-16 squad. Schaack added a pair of goals and Dobitz also scored as they peppered the net with 57 shots. Kamlitz also added two assists for a five-point game. Sarah Auka and Olson also got helpers. Finck’s second shutout required seven saves.

Schaack’s hat trick capped the weekend in a 6-2 win over U-19 Watford City. Wiest, Stephanie Kamlitz and Auka rounded out the goal-scorers. Dion, Schaack and Wiest were credited with assists. Finck finished with 14 saves, outshooting Watford City 54-16.
