Montpelier Club holds holiday party

The Montpelier Club met Dec. 2 with 17 members present. Marlys Boughton led the group in the pledge and stories were shared.

Lorraine Gall won the door prize, a can of popcorn.

Bingo, whist and pinochle were played. Harold Ratts called the bingo. Winners were Willie Kamletz and Harriet Karates. Whist winners were Willie Kamletz, low, and Erna Buchholz, high. Pinochle winners were Millie Wilkinson, low, and Harriet Stroh, high.

The Christmas party was part of the activities. The group had a potluck lunch after bingo and cards. The workers were invited to join the lunch.

Members donated money instead of having a gift exchange. The donation will be given to the James River Senior and Community Center. The club presented the money to Laurie McGuire and Rhodna Sahr.

The group meets again on Jan. 6. Dues of $2 should be paid at that time.
