Duke routs UNC Asheville

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Gerald Henderson and Kyle Singler both scored 14 points after being benched at the start of No. 6 Duke’s 99-56 rout of North Carolina-Asheville on Wednesday night.

Jon Scheyer added 13 points for the Blue Devils (9-1), who juggled the lineup after they were upset 11 days earlier at Michigan. Coach Mike Krzyzewski benched his regular starting lineup in favor of five players who had combined to make one start this season.

The Blue Devils took control with an early 27-8 run and coasted to their 65th consecutive nonconference victory at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Reid Augst, the only senior on UNC Asheville’s roster, scored 15 points and John Williams added 11. The Bulldogs (4-6) lost their sixth straight against Division I opponents and fell to 0-50 all-time against Atlantic Coast Conference teams.

No. 11 Syracuse 82, Canisius 60

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Rick Jackson scored a career-high 14 points, Paul Harris added 13 points and 11 rebounds, and No. 11 Syracuse rebounded from its first loss of the season with an 82-60 victory over Canisius on Wednesday night.

No. 19 Michigan St. 79, The Citadel 65

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Raymar Morgan had 26 points and 10 rebounds and No. 19 Michigan State survived a 3-point barrage in a 79-65 victory over The Citadel on Wednesday night.

Morgan was 6-for-6 from the field in the first half and 11-for-12 overall for the Spartans (7-2), who led 37-19.

No. 23 Memphis 59, Ark.-Little Rock 51

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Robert Dozier scored 15 points and Shawn Taggart and Tyreke Evans both added 12 as No. 23 Memphis weathered a late rally to hold on for a 59-51 victory over Arkansas-Little Rock on Wednesday night.

Dozier missed only one of his four shots from the field and was 9-of-12 from the line as the Tigers (6-2) rebounded from a 79-70 overtime loss at Georgetown on Saturday.

No. 17 Ohio St. 81, Jacksonville 68

COLUMBUS, Ohio — David Lighty had 21 points to lead No. 17 Ohio State to an 81-68 victory over Jacksonville on Wednesday night.

Ohio State (7-0) led by 19 points early in the second half only to see the lead cut to five with 5 minutes left. Jon Diebler hit his third 3-pointer for the Buckeyes, and the Dolphins never got closer.
