FARGO (AP) — The president of the board of Fargo Oak Grove Lutheran School said a $1.25 million gift will go toward a new health center.

The gift comes from Fargo entrepreneur Shelly Ellig, the 81-year-old owner of the Stop-N-Go franchise. Oak Grove President Bruce Messelt said it’s one of the largest gifts in the school’s 100-plus year history.

He said it will go toward a five-year $14.5 million capital campaign that includes a new Ellig Center for Health and Wellness to focus more on individual student fitness plans.

The school hopes to raise $3 million more by the end of 2009.
