SCARTA makes plans for card party

The Dec. 16 meeting of the Stutsman County Area Retired Teachers was held at the James River Senior and Community Center with 16 members and guests present.

A program appropriate for the season titled “A Week before Christmas for a Retired Teacher” was presented by Loretta Jung with Geri Morris and Dave Lee providing the accompaniment for the Christmas carols.

Plans are being made for the Annual Card Party on Feb. 8. Proceeds from the card party are used to help fund two $500 scholarships for Stutsman County high school students planning to attend a college or university in North Dakota.

SCARTA’S next meeting will be Jan. 27. The program will be presented by Taylor Barnes, Jamestown Arts Center, director. She will be updating members on the programs and changes at the center.
