Baker’s third-period goal lifts Tech over UND

DETROIT (AP) — Jordan Baker’s goal late in the third period broke a tie and lifted Michigan Tech to a 2-1 win over North Dakota in the third-place game of the 44th annual Great Lakes Invitational on Sunday at Joe Louis Arena.

Ryan Angelow also scored for Michigan Tech (5-15-2) and Rob Nolan made 29 saves.

Evan Trupp scored for North Dakota (9-10-1) and Brad Eidsness stopped 18 shots.

Baker scored with 5:58 left in the third period for his ninth goal.

Trupp tied the game at 1 for North Dakota 8:46 into the third period with his second goal.

Angelow opened the scoring with 2:42 left in the second period with his first goal.
