Philip Bohn is coming back to the Midwest.

Bohn, a Minneapolis native, is headed back to the region after spending the last two seasons as women’s soccer coach at Wesleyan College, a women’s college located in Macon, Ga.

Jamestown College named Bohn its new head men’s and women’s soccer coach on Monday. He will begin his duties at the school in January.

“Jamestown seems like a good fit based on what the school means academically, the opportunity to coach both men and women, and the opportunity for me to move closer to home,” Bohn said.

Bohn takes the reins of both Jamestown College varsity programs from Ben Mumm, who resigned at the end of the fall seasons.

Bohn is a graduate of St. Cloud State and prior to Wesleyan coached for seven years in the Twin Cities area at Mound Westonka High School. He has also coached club soccer teams in both Minneapolis and Macon.

“Philip will bring a great deal of energy and expertise to the soccer programs,” JC athletic director Lawrie Paulson said. “His teams have a history of achieving on the field and in the classroom, which is important at Jamestown College.”

The Jimmie women’s soccer team finished 1-14-2 last fall, while the men went 2-13-2 in just the second season of varsity competition.
