Jewels to hold New Year celebration
The Jewels of the Prairie will ring in the New Year at the Gardenette Community Room beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 13. There will be games and cards until 4:15 when they will be joined by Diane Witzig who will teach the art of playing bells.

Each month, members will share their most humorous or embarrassing happenings in their lives and the lives of others. There will be an early-evening light supper prepared by the director of the Gardenette, Red Hat member Stella Wheeler. Call reservations to Jackie Fuher at 952-1128 by Jan. 11.
“A Christmas Evening at the Arts Center” was the theme of the Dec. 9 Red Hat celebration. Hostesses Helen Hample, Winnifred Town-send, Lillian Jensen and Doris Berstler served punch, handed out a dozen door prizes and arranged for several of Cheryl McIntyre’s Jamestown High School choir groups to perform. A catered dinner was served by Jamestown College.
