Jamestown Hospital Foundation garnered $17,224 from the 10th Annual Breakfast with Santa Event held on Nov. 22 at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
The money was used to purchase a portable DVD player and movies for children in rehab who have to sit in the whirlpool for long periods of time. A vital signs monitor and mobile stand were obtained for the Maternal Child Health Unit. The med/surgical department received new tympanic thermometers and stethoscopes and a new wagon for children. The Emergency Room got a play table and radiology received a new videofluoroscopy chair for children with swallowing problems.
“We are pleased to be able to obtain so many things this year,” said Jan Barnes, foundation director. “We are even more pleased with the community who each year step up to make children’s services at our hospital so much better. It truly is a community effort.”
The next Breakfast with Santa event will be held on Nov. 21 at the Knights of Columbus.
