A Woodworth native and Jamestown College graduate will serve as the first dean of the University of Mary business department. Shanda Traiser has been named to the post created with the formation of the Tharaldson School of Business this fall.
“I’m looking forward to strengthening and growing the Tharaldson School of Business,” Traiser said.
Along with degrees in business administration and English from James-town College Traiser holds a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota Moorhead and a Ph.D. from North Dakota State University.
“They have some good programs going at the school of business,” she said. “They offer a lot including a master’s program and are unique in offering a network with professionals in Bismarck. They also offer entrepreneurial training in almost a business incubator type climate.”
Previously Traiser had worked as an associate professor and director of assessment at Jamestown College and had worked as a certified management accountant for Goodrich Aerospace and AVIKO USA.
