Blizzard warning issued for Jamestown, much of North Dakota

The National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning for all of western and central North Dakota today, including Stutsman County.

The National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning for all of western and central North Dakota today, including Stutsman County.

According to the NWS's Web site, a low pressure system will come out of Alberta, Canada, and move quickly across North Dakota tonight and Monday morning. The NWS said the Jamestown area could see wind out of the northwest at 30 to 40 mph and gusts of up to 50 mph. As much as 4 to 5 inches of new snow could fall along a line from Minot to Jamestown.

The warning will be in effect until noon Monday.
