Alliance Pipeline seeks nominations

The deadline to submit nominations for Alliance Pipeline’s 2008 Community Hero award ends Jan. 16, but there is still plenty of time to shine the light on a community volunteer by nominating someone today.

The annual Alliance Pipeline Community Hero award recognizes extraordinary people who make a difference in communities through their volunteerism and charitable work. One Community Hero will be announced in each state (North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois) across the U.S. portion of the Alliance Pipeline system. The Community Hero award recipient will receive a $2,500 award donation to the approved charity of his or her choice.

“Through the Community Hero program, citizens are able to recognize exceptional individuals who contribute their time and energy to helping others and improving our community,” said Leighton Smith, North Dakota area manager, Alliance Pipeline.

North Dakota’s 2007 Community Hero award was presented to Randy Munkeby of Carrington for his dedication to improving the city and making it a safer place to live and work. Munkeby donated his $2,500 award to the Carrington Youth Center where he volunteers countless hours making improvements to the building and the bowling alley.
