Driver hits parked car

An Ellendale, N.D., driver struck a parked car in Jamestown Sunday, resulting in $6,000 damage to both vehicles, according to the James-town Police Department.

An Ellendale, N.D., driver struck a parked car in Jamestown Sunday, resulting in $6,000 damage to both vehicles, according to the James-town Police Department.

The accident happened at about 7:15 p.m. near the intersection of Second Street and 12th Avenue Northeast.

The police report said Aaron Filbert, 29, was driving a 1989 Chevrolet southbound on 12th Avenue Northeast and drove through the intersection at Second Street Northeast. His vehicle then slid into a 1996 Dodge police said was illegally parked on the street.

Damage was estimated at $3,500 to the Chevrolet and $2,500 to the Dodge.

Filbert was not wearing a seat belt. He was cited for failure to wear a seat belt, police said.
