Ruff earns Eagle Scout Award
The Eagle Scout Award, Scouting’s highest rank, was given to Tyler Ruff, Jan. 4, at Mandan (N.D.) United Methodist Church. A reception followed the ceremony in the church basement.
The Eagle Scout Award, Scouting’s highest rank, was given to Tyler Ruff, Jan. 4, at Mandan (N.D.) United Methodist Church. A reception followed the ceremony in the church basement.
Ruff, 18, is a member of Troop 54 and has earned 21 required merit badges, as well as completing a service project for his award.
For his project, Ruff placed 22 emergency location signs throughout the parks and recreation areas in Morton County. A GPS number is on each sign, which will help emergency personnel locate people in need more efficiently.
In addition to the 21 required merit badges. Ruff has earned an additional 11 and served his troop as a senior patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader, Order of the Arrow representative, patrol leader and scribe. He has earned the religious medal, God and Me, and is also a member of Order of the Arrow.
Ruff’s two brothers, Jordan and Connor, have also earned Eagle Awards. He is a senior at Mandan (N.D.) High School.
He is the grandson of Morris and Elda Ruff, Jamestown.
