Man charged with negligent homicide
A Belcourt man has been sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison after pleading guilty to negligent homicide in a crash near Dunseith that killed a Canadian man.
ROLLA, N.D. (AP) — A Belcourt man has been sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison after pleading guilty to negligent homicide in a crash near Dunseith that killed a Canadian man.
Forty-five-year-old Allen St. Germaine was charged in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 281 last June that killed 56-year-old Dennis McKenzie of Brandon, Manitoba.
St. Germaine could have faced up to five years in prison on the felony charge.
He also pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of driving with a suspended license and driving without liability insurance.
