Seven nursing students from Jamestown College will leave on a 25-day trip to Chogoria, Kenya, to work at Chogoria Hospital, a facility closely affiliated with the Presbyterian Church.

“The students will get to see how it is to be a nurse without any hi-tech advantages,” said Dr. Jackie Mangnall, JC nursing department chairperson. “The hospital looks like something out of the 1930s (by U.S. standards).”

This is the second time students from Jamestown College will be traveling to Chogoria. Last year the trip was cancelled because of civil unrest.

“I think it’s important for everybody to experience different cultures, expand their horizons and realize there are other people out there,” said Jo Oats, a student going on the trip.
