The new president of the Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corp. Board believes the faltering national economy could be a boon to the Jamestown area.
Jim Boyd is taking a three-pronged approach to growing Jamestown. First, his goal is to promote job retention. Second, he’s looking for new business startups and relocation through marketing the area as business friendly with financial incentives to help. He sees Minnesota, with its budget woes, as the place to market for business and employees.
His third goal is to encourage entrepreneurs among college students.
“We want to be really aggressive about attracting new businesses,” he said. “We want businesses to look at Jamestown as a business site.”
