FARGO (AP) — The operator of a rural Cass County salvage yard who has had run-ins with authorities will spend no more time in jail.
David Habiger has been ordered to serve three days in jail, and given credit for three days already served.
Habiger was charged with misdemeanor ob-struction in December when tow trucks arrived at his property to remove vehicles that had expired licenses. He entered an Alford plea in that incident, meaning he did not admit guilt but conceded there was enough evidence to convict him.
In exchange for the guilty plea, prosecutors dismissed a case from last June, when Habiger was arrested and charged with obstruction after he became upset with officials who searched his salvage yard. A judge later ruled the search was illegal.
