All-district team, honors announced

Following the conclusion of the District 5 girls’ basketball tournament in Jamestown on Saturday, the 2008-09 all-district players were announced. The all-district team was selected prior to last week’s tournament. The players that were named to the team earned the achievement based on season-long accomplishments.

This season’s all-district selections were: Heather Brown, Litchville-Marion-Montpelier; Meg Martin, Ellendale; Katelyn Zimbleman, LaMoure; Carly Snow, Pingree-Buchanan-Kensal; Leah Hook, Barnes County North; Kiley Fuller, Ellendale; Jessa Lindgren, Edgeley-Kulm; Carly Van Bruggen, Litchville-Marion-Montpelier; Brittany Diegel; Chelsea Van Ray, Pingree-Buchanan-Kensal; Jenae Kramlich, Barnes County North; Amanda Valenta, Litchville-Marion-Montpelier; and Ashley Herman, Ellendale.

The District 5 Coach of the Year Award was handed out to Pingree-Buchanan-Kensal’s Cory Mack.

Litchville-Marion-Montpelier’s Heather Brown was named the 2008-09 District 5 Senior Player of the Year.
