Sport and Recreation Show opens Friday

The 2009 Sport and Recreation Show will begin Friday inside the Jamestown Civic Center.

The show runs through Sunday and organizers are saying it could be what residents are looking for to get over a case of the winter blues.

“If you are getting cabin fever this is a great way to remind yourself that spring and summer are com-ing,” said Lynn Lambrecht, Engelstad Family Media sales manager.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and will be open Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

Lambrecht explained the show will give people a chance to come in and look at a wide variety of mer-chandise, including different types of boats, ATVs, RVs, siding and windows, smaller outdoor cabins and outdoor clothing.

There will also be some booths geared towards women, she added.

“I look forward to the campers,” Lambrecht said. “The kitchens in some of these campers are nicer than mine.”

People will also have the opportunity to sample ribs, sausages and other foods, Lambrecht said.

Show visitors have an opportunity to participate in outdoor-based activities.
