MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A 5-year-old student in the Minneapolis schools slipped on some ice and was hit by a school bus.
The Minneapolis school district said the accident happened about 6:45 a.m. today. The boy was immediately taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center.
The student was not identified. An HCMC spokeswoman had no information about the child's condition.
The district said the boy and his mother had boarded the bus, but got off after realizing it was the wrong bus. That's when the boy slipped and was hit.
The boy was enrolled at Windom School and the bus served a charter school. The Windom principal went to the hospital to be with the boy's family.
