Patrol investigates 14 vehicle crashes Wednesday in region that includes Jamestown

The North Dakota Highway Patrol investigated 14 motor vehicle crashes today in the Southeast Region which includes Jamestown. Of the 14 crashes, eight were property damage and six were injury crashes.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol investigated 14 motor vehicle crashes today in the Southeast Region which includes Jamestown. Of the 14 crashes, eight were property damage and six were injury crashes. Eleven of the crashes occurred between Valley City and Casselton on Interstate 94. Three drivers or occupants of these vehicles were not wearing their seat belts and were ejected, the patrol said.

Freezing rain caused slippery conditions today in parts of North Dakota, including the Jamestown area.

The patrol said of those injured, two were life flighted to medical facilities. The extent of their injuries is unknown but is not believed to be life threatening, the patrol said. The other injured parties were transported by ground ambulance to area medical facilities.

All of the crashes occurred between 6 and 10:30 a.m. today.

Following too close and speed were contributing factors in the crashes, the patrol said.
