BISMARCK (AP) — Icy roads have led to numerous crashes in eastern North Dakota, and forecasters say travel will remain difficult as wintry weather moves in.
Highway Patrol Sgt. Troy Hischer reports 14 crashes on Interstate 94 between West Fargo and Tower City, with at least three injuries. Two people were life-flighted to a Fargo hospital.
The patrol says freezing rain on roads in northwestern North Dakota led to at least two rollovers, though no one was injured.
The National Weather Service says up to 2 inches of snow is expected in northern North Dakota through Thursday and 5-8 inches is expected in the south. Forecasters say winds up to 25 mph will cause blowing and drifting snow and make travel difficult, and wind chills will be bitterly cold.
