Bears win District 7 play-in

Wells County will look to ride a little momentum into the District 7 tournament after defeating Midkota 50-40 in Friday night’s play-in game. Midkota was able to keep the deficit in the single digits for much of the game, but hurt themselves sending the Bears to the free throw line 27 times — which was 19 more trips than Midkota made.

Midkota was able to keep the deficit in the single digits for much of the game, but hurt themselves sending the Bears to the free throw line 27 times — which was 19 more trips than Midkota made.

Kelby Houchin and Logan Neumiller did the majority of the scoring by combining for 40 points with 22 and 18, respectively for the Bears.

Shawn Skaufel was the lone Mustang in double figures, finishing with 10 points in the loss.
