Ethanol plant fire minor

Authorities say damage from a fire at the Tharaldson Ethanol Plant west of Casselton was contained to a dust collection bin.

CASSELTON, N.D. (AP) — Authorities say damage from a fire at the Tharaldson Ethanol Plant west of Casselton was contained to a dust collection bin.

Firefighters put out the smoldering fire Saturday morning by dumping water into the top of the bin. There were no injuries.

The cause was not immediately known.

It was the second incident at the plant in as many days. Authorities said a man was buried up to his armpits for nearly two hours in a grain bin Friday after a co-worker turned on equipment that sucked him into a pile of corn.
