BISMARCK - North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Roger Johnson said this morning he is a candidate for president of the National Farmers Union and, if elected, would resign as ag commissioner.
If he resigns, that would open his position to appointment by Gov.
John Hoeven.
Johnson said he decided late last night to seek the national FU presidency and that it was a difficult decision. The Farmers Union convention will vote within a week.
Cole works for Forum Communications Co., which owns The Jamestown Sun
