JC facility receives association honors

An updated facility at Jamestown College has received national attention. The Larson Sports Center was named Indoor Multi-purpose Facility of the Year by the American Sports Builders Association. The renovation and addition to the track area includes a practice track with a pole vaulting area, jumping and weight throwing space, batting cages and equipment storage.

The Larson Sports Center was named Indoor Multi-purpose Facility of the Year by the American Sports Builders Association. The renovation and addition to the track area includes a practice track with a pole vaulting area, jumping and weight throwing space, batting cages and equipment storage.

The pre-fab rubber floor surface was installed by Kiefer Specialty Flooring, Lindenhurst, Ill. General contractor was Hillerud Construction, Jamestown, and architect/engineer was EAPC, Fargo.

The Larson Center also houses the James River Family YMCA.

ASBA is a national organization for builders, designers and suppliers of materials for tennis courts, running tracks, synthetic turf fields, indoor and outdoor synthetic sports surfaces.
